| Model: OFFROAD | Frameforks: 55cm Tange MTB CR-MO double butted tube set | | Colour: Blue | Age: Mid 1980's (I think?) | | Gears: Simano Deore 18 Speed | Brakes: Gigant drum brakes | | Handlebars: Chromed steel | Pedals: MKS plastic. | | Stem: SR power-clamp style stem (like BMX) | Seatpost: Strong. Alloy | | Saddles: Padded vinyl | Wheels: 26 x 1.75 alloy rims & hubs. galv spokes | | Cranks: Shimano alloy. | Chainwheel: Bio-pace. 48-38-28 tooth | | Other details: We have here a bit of an unknown so I assume rare, I found some info on the manufacturer: DBS were manufactured in Norway, DBS is short for "Den Beste Sykkel" (meaning 'The Best Bicycle') the firm was sold to Monark in 1996, the company behind brands such as Monark, Crescent, Peugeot and Bianchi, you can find out teh history at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Den_Beste_Sykkel As for the bike, its a nice well balanced, strong mountainbike, built to a good spec (for the day), the drum brakes are really responsive, the bike rides like an oversized BMX, it has paint splatters on the frame & forks, and it will need a new pair of grips and a new gear lever & cable (I shall try to get these sorted). apart from that its a nice ride, has spent most of its life dry stored, and appears to have had little use. | | Postage: Postage & packaging in the UK will be £28.00. Can post worldwide at agreed cost. Collection can be arranged. |
